Checked the oil filter after I pulled over at NAPA and I find two oil can caps laying on the radiator shroud. I finally got out of there about 10:45 am. I'll pass and take care of the air filter myself." In the meantime the service writer comes over and tells me "the only thing the tech noticed was I need a new air filter for $30.00" (Maybe I am wrong - they are Jiffy Lube) I told him "I am not sure the tech knows how to read an air filter - he can't read the plain English you wrote on the work order. So back up on the lift for another 20 minute drain. "HEY WTF 'R U DOING? Did you not read the work order?" "Sorry sir, I'll take care of it." After 45 minutes we are passing by the bay where my truck is and I see the tech has the oil hose pulled down from the ceiling and he is just pumping away. I have my dog with me, so we are walking laps around the building to kill time. There are four bays, for some reason I get pulled in number 5 at 9:30 am. The first vehicle gets driven into the bay at 8:30 am. Anybody see where this is going?īack to the time clock - the service techs are milling around drinking coffee and shooting the ****. (Pennzoil Ultra Platinum full synthetic) He writes that down on the work order plain as day. I get up to the service writer and tell him I brought my own oil and it is behind the driver seat. Cool, I might get out of here a little earlier than I expected. They actually start writing up work orders at 7:45 am. Three other people beat me, so I am number 4. I get there this morning at 7:30 am hoping to be number one for 15K service. The Quick Lane at the Ford Dealership opens at 8:00 am on Saturday. Before anyone tells me to just do it myself, I can't, because of the home owner association where I live does not allow vehicle maintenance being done, especially oil changes.
